Chrissie is the Writer and Director behind Charmed Web. One of her main interests lies in adapting literature, (prose and poetry) into films. She is devoted to the idea that classic literature can be accessible through film, whilst maintaining original fidelity. In her final year at Kings College London, Chrissie is writing a dissertation on this topic. She hopes that her films inspire people to seek out original texts and explore literature that has inspired her visual imagery. Her writing is greatly influenced by fantasy, the uncanny, folklore, literature and nature - amongst many other things. Chrissie loves being outside, or in the sea, and time spent reading or with her dogs is particularly favourable.

Sophie is the Producer for Charmed Web. Over their previous two projects she has fallen in love with the film making process and thrives on bringing together a melange of moving parts to create the finished product. Being in her last year at Oxford University studying Physics, her skills lie in strategy, organisation, attention to detail and problem solving. She also adores the creative aspect of the Producer role; her passion is telling stories about the complexities of human nature which is portrayed so clearly in literature. Off of set Sophie is a fierce sportswoman in rugby, cricket, and hockey and she certainly brings that fight to her role as Producer.

This weekend half of Charmed Web (Chrissie) went to the Berlin International Film Festival thanks to a student accreditation. Hopefully in the years to come Charmed Web will be going as a whole unit to the festival and the EFM (European Film Market)…🎬
